New England Premiere screening of Linotype: the film, followed by Q&A and discussion on making the film with director Doug Wilson.
Linotype: the film is a feature length documentary centered around the Linotype type casting machine. Called the "eighth wonder of the world" by Thomas Edison, it revolutionized printing and society. The film tells a surprisingly emotional story of the people connected to Linotype and it's impact on the world.
Presented by AIGA RI, with sponsorship from Monotype Imaging, Sprintout and Schoolyard. Special thanks to AIGA RISD student group and AIGA RI Members for their ongoing support.
